Faced with AI, many learners arrive with legitimate worries. Welcoming those worries is how you earn their trust.
Common objections and ways to respond
- “AI is going to replace me.” → “AI replaces tasks, not people. Those who know how to use it will have an advantage — which is exactly why we are here.”
- “It is not reliable.” → “Correct, and that is precisely why we are learning to verify. Critical thinking stays central.”
- “It is too complicated for me.” → “If you can write a message, you can use AI. Let’s prove it together right now.”
- “It is bad for the planet / for jobs.” → Acknowledge the concern, add nuance, promote considered use.
The welcoming stance
Never brush a fear aside. Validate the emotion (“that is a legitimate question”), then shed some light on it. A trainer who listens defuses resistance.
The key: your credibility comes from your honesty about the limits, not from blind enthusiasm.
