The camera decides what the final image will show. Anything outside its field of view will simply not appear in the render.
Looking through the camera
Numpad 0 switches the view to the camera’s eye. A rectangle then marks out the frame of the image.
Positioning it easily
- Turn on « Lock Camera to View » in the side panel (N key) so you can steer the camera simply by navigating the viewport.
- Apply the rule of thirds: place your subject on one of the guiding lines rather than dead centre.
- Adjust the focal length in the camera properties for a wider or tighter shot.
Key takeaway: think like a photographer. Numpad 0 shows exactly what will be rendered, so compose your shot before you hit render.
