The price is a field of its own in the form. Setting it well, and knowing how to highlight a promotion, can lift your sales without changing the product at all.
Entering the price
- Enter the regular price in the field provided, tax included as the buyer sees it.
- Check that it covers your cost, the marketplace commission and a margin : selling at a loss helps nobody.
- A price that is too low can worry people : it is sometimes read as a sign of poor quality.
Adding a promotion
The form offers a sale price field. When you fill it in, the listing shows the old price crossed out next to the new one : a strong visual signal that catches the eye.
- First enter the regular price (e.g. : 40 €).
- Then enter the sale price (e.g. : 32 €), optionally over a set period.
- The discount is displayed automatically : 40 € crossed out, 32 € highlighted.
Advice : keep your promotions credible. A permanent discount is no longer a discount, and inflating the regular price to show a fake reduction damages trust. A genuine, time-limited promotion remains an excellent trigger.
Key takeaway : set a price that covers cost, commission and margin, then use the sale price field to display a credible and attractive discount.
